“Invest in the human family. Invest in people. Build a little community of those you love and who love you.” I believe this quote means take time in talking to your family and becoming close with them. Don’t lose them, and make sure that you are surrounded with love from them. If you have people that love you and that you love around you, it will create a happy environment. I love my family and they love me and I feel good that I know that.
“It’s not just other people we need to forgive…We also need to forgive ourselves.” Everyone makes mistakes including you. You can’t dwell on the mistakes you have made; you must forgive yourself and move on. I have made mistakes as well as other people. I apologize and try to make the situation better and I don’t get upset or mad when everything isn’t perfect.
“You need to make peace with yourself and everyone around you.” Everyone fights with other people because of differences or problems, but you can try to make peace. Even by avoiding a person. Also make peace with yourself. Don’t be upset and fighting all the time it isn’t good for your health. In the long run, peace will allow you to have a better life free of drama and problems. I love having peace with everyone and myself because I feel better knowing I can talk to anyone, since no one hates me.
“Death ends a life, not a relationship.” If someone dies, you can always still be close with them. When you pray and talk to them, they are still with you no matter if there dead or not. Death doesn’t stop you from loving someone; it’s a never ending relationship. I still love my grandpa and I think that we are still close even though he passed away, I still talk to him in prayers, or when I miss him.
I never had a professor like Morrie, but I wish I had one I can talk to like this. I would receive good advice on life.
