Understandably, Amir is upset and feels as if he has been lied to his whole when he discovers that Hassan is his half brother. Baba deprived Amir of the truth and never told him that Hassan is more than just a servant. If Amir knew that Hassan was his half brother from when they were just kids, Amir would have probably treated him better. Now, since Hassan is dead Amir feels that he is responsible to give Sohrab a good life because he is Sohrab's uncle and he knows that Hassan would have liked him to take care of his only son. Amir wants to make sure that Sohrab has a good life even though he does not have parents.

When Amir discovers that Hassan is his half-brother, he feels betrayed by his father. at one point in the book baba tells amir that stealing is the worst sin. yet baba steals amirs right to a brother. he steals alis honor, and hassans identity. at the begining of the book hassan always defends amir yet amir finds ways to make hassan look stupid, so when amir discovers the truth he realizes all the wrong he did was to his own flesh and blood, that he betrayed hassan just like baba did.
when amir discovers sohrab is his nephew he decides it is one of the few ways he can erase the wrong he commited toward hassan. it is his only way to apologize for both himself and baba, so amir sets out to find his nephew, inorder to give him a home, and the identity his father was deprived of.

Amir's view of his childhood changed after he learns Hassan is his half-brother because as Denise and Safa mentioned Amir feels that he has been lied to his whole life. This also explains why Hassan had some similiar characteristics as Baba, being able to stand up. Also the times when Baba wished that Hassan was there with them in America especially during the night of Amir's graduation. Amir was so angry and upset that Baba had never told him about Hassan. This made Amir feel different about Hassan, because he started to have thoughts about the way he treated him. I can understand why Amir reacted the way he did when Rahim Khan told him the truth but he should also try to understand the situation back then of how it would have caused a disgrace on the family.
Amir's views change his motivation to find Sohrab because after he learns that he is Sohrab's half uncle as denise and safa mentioned he wants to do something good for all the bad things he did to Hassan. He wants to relieve his guilt of the past and he feels that he is obliged to do this. I'm glad that Amir decided to go and look for Sohrab and let him have a good lifestyle that he deserves b/c that is what Hassan would have wanted.

when amir finds out that hassan has had a brother his whole life, its a shock for him. he feels betrayed by his father all these years and he finally understands why baba always wanted hassan to come along with him when they went places. amir is angry at baba because earlier in the book baba talks about how you can be a theif, and amir thinks his dad is a theif for taking his right to a brother away.

amir looks back on his childhood and how he treated hassan. there were so many times that he didnt have to tease him or leave him to be made fun of by others, but he thought of hassan differently because he was just his servant. amir feels that sohrab is his last chance to fix the things he has done in the past to hassann and how he drove him away from the family. he is an uncle and he wants to find him cause he feels responsible for hassans death and he wants to make things right, and help sohrab even though his parents are gone.

Well amir’s view of his childhood changes completely after he finds out that hassan is his half brother. at that point he starts to think about his whole life, and the way he treated hassan. He was friend with him, but sometimes he did not really want him around. He was jealous when baba wanted him to go places with them or when he bought anything for him. He understands and feels guilty of his behavior. As was mentioned before by other students, he felt very disappointed of his father. He had prevented amir’s right of a brother and the most ironic part is that his father told him that it’s a sin to lie. Now that hassan is dead amir feels responsible for sohrab. He knows that he is the closest person that he has left. He agrees to find him because he wants to protect and support him. Since he never stood up for hassan, know he think is the right time to do that. he wants to give sohrab everything he never gave hassan.

When Amir found out that Hassan is his half brother, he gets angry at himself and baba. It is because all his life he believed what Baba told him about stealing and that a man who kills somebody is a thief, because he steals somebody's life. However, being not told that Hassan is his half brother, is also a theft to know the truth as seen by Amir. I think that Baba couldnt tell Amir about Hassan, because it would bring down their family name and he would loss respect. It was not good time to tell Amir when he was little, and maybe Baba wanted Rahim Khan to tell this to Amir after his death.
Since it was Amir's fault that Hassan had to leave, now its his responsibility to find Sohrab and help him to get a better life.
