A topic that Morrie and Mitch talk about is Death. Morrie talks about Death with ease and as if it does not really bother him that he can pass away any day now. Morrie says he excepts that he is going to pass away , because everyone does. Morrie tells Mitch that he should be prepared for Death and that it could happen at anytime. He tells Morrie to appreciate everyday like it is your last. “Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live”, said by Morrie and he talks about his death and it makes him appreciate every moment.
I think it is amazing how Morrie is still very happy even though he knows his time to go is any day. Morrie gives Mitch very good advice and it makes me think that I should appreciate life to because that little bird that Morrie talks about could be sitting on my shoulder telling me it is my time to go. Life is short and everyone dies so when it is my time to go I will be upset, but I want to be able to say I lived a fun life, exploring everything like Morrie did.
These words affect Mitch because it makes him think is he living his life the way he wants to or is he living someone else’s life. Mitch thinks about death seeing his old professor the way he is and Mitch would like to accomplish some goals Morrie has set for him.
